Spring Hill soccer sweeps Sycamore Lane

WAGRAM — The Spring Hill Middle School soccer teams swept Sycamore Lane to close out the regular season on Wednesday.

The Lady Spartans won 2-1 on Anna Lisa Ciarrocca's goal with 90 seconds left. The assist on the play came from Greta Griswold. Shonthini McNeill scored Spring Hill's first goal during a scrum in front of the net just 47 seconds into the game.

The Spring Hill boys won 5-0. Meelad Alinaghian neeted his team's first goal in the 25th minute, and Dakota Chavis scored off an assist by Afiz Lateef in the 28th minute to give the Spartans a 2-0 lead they would take into halftime.

Ryan Williams scored a pair of goals in the second half for the Spartans, Joe Sojka had one goal and one assist, and John Mark Lavigne had one assist for Spring Hill.

The Spring Hill boys will play Hamlet at Hamlet for the Southeastern Middle School Conference championship some time next week. The Spartans are defending conference champions.
