Third arrest in McColl murder case

Authorities have charged a third relative in the shooting-death of a man in McColl, S.C. last month.

Lee Ann Head, 33, of 346 Foley Circle, McColl, was arrested earlier this week by deputies and charged with with obstruction of justice, providing false information to law enforcement and conspiracy, all for her role in the April 5 slaying of 30-year old Scott Allen Massom, according to the Marlboro County Sheriff's Department. Head is Massom's sister-in-law.

Massom's body was discovered in a family member's yard on Cartrette Circle in McColl, according to reports.

Deputies have also charged Head's husband, 36-year old Jamie Head, and Massom's wife, 29-year old Helen Massom, of 1402 Farilane Drive in Valparasio, in the murder.

Jamie Head is charged with murder, possession of a firearm while committing a violent crime, petty larceny and armed robbery.

Helen Head Massom is charged with accessory to murder after the fact, giving false information to law enforcement and obstruction of justice, the release said.

Jamie Head and Helen Massom are being held without bond.
