Pizza deliverer's car stolen

A pizza delivery man for Domino's reported his vehicle stolen, according to a a police report.

Mark Jeffrey Feeney, 27, of Wesleyan Drive in Laurinburg told officers his orange 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier was stolen when he was delivering pizzas, according to the report.

The person who made the order requested Feeney bring the pizza to the back door of a residence on First Street, the report said. When he approached the back door, he heard someone start his vehicle, which was then taken in an unknown direction.

The report said Feeney then talked to a resident of the home, who told Feeney that no one at the residence had made an order.

Police recovered the vehicle 17 hours later from a filed between Stewartsville Road and the city lot, the report said.

Laurinburg man charged for drug possession

A 20-year old Laurinburg man was arrested on Old Hundred Road in Laurel Hill on drug charges, according to a sheriff's report.

Patrick Dwayne Smiling, of Hankeytown Road, is charged with resisting arrest, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, the report said.

According tot he report, deputies recovered less than half-an-ounce of marijuana from Smiling, as well as rolling paper.

Deputies also arrested 17-year old William Alex Breeden, of Andrew Jackson Highway in Laurel Hill, the report said. Breeden is charged also charged with resisting officers.

The two were taken to Scotland County jail and placed under an unspecified bond, the report said.

Smiling is also awaiting trial for attempted murder for allegedly shooting 20-year old Corey Andre Leak in the parking lot of Nic's Pik Kwik.

Woman alleges rape outside nightclub

A 30-year-old Rowland woman said she was raped by two men outside of a nightclub in the Maxton area, according to a Robeson County sheriff’s report.

The woman told deputies that she stepped outside at about 1 a.m. and the men grabbed her and dragged her into some woods and raped her, according to the report. One of the men was armed, the woman said.

Vehicle stolen, recovered

Officers recovered a van and trailers that were reported stolen a week ago by Scotland Enterprise, according to a police report.

The white 1994 Ford van, along with a black 2008 Anderson Lowbed trailer, were recovered in a pecan orchard, the report said.

According to the report, officers noticed damage to the rear door, where they assume the suspect(s) gained entry to the vehicle.

Police were unable to locate an orange Husqvarna riding lawnmower or a Troy-Bilt push mower, both of which were also reported stolen by Scotland Enterprise, the report said. Officers assume the van was used to transport the lawnmowers.

Employee accused of theft

A Big Lots employee is accused of stealing from the discount store at 1681 South Main Street, according to a police report.

Cynthia Johnson Covington, 48, of Kinston Road in Laurinburg, was arrested and charged with larceny by an employee, the report said.

The report listed Covington's bail at $500.

The report did not specify what Covington is accused of stealing.

Woman attacked by baseball bat, report said

A woman suffered minor injuries when she was assaulted with a baseball bat, according to a Robeson County sheriff's report.

Ashley Cummings, 26, of Lakewood Drive in Maxton, told deputies that she was leaving a party about 3 a.m. following an altercation and found the paint on her 2000 Lincoln LS scratched, the report said. Cummings said she was then involved in a second altercation during which she was assaulted.
