A 20-year old Gibson man turned himself in to deputies for several assault charges, according to a sheriff's report.
Philip John Graham, of Henderson Street, is charged with two counts of assault on a female, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count of trespassing, the report said.
Graham has served time in prison for assaulting an officer, possession of a schedule VI controlled substance, speeding to elude police and failure to stop for lights and sirens. He had 16 infractions, including possession a weapon, fighting and assaulting a staff member with a weapon.
Graham also had been convicted on two counts of breaking and entering and two counts of larceny, records show.
The records also said Graham uses the aliases Cash Money and Smurf.
Man charged with possession
A Laurinburg man was charged with drug possession, according to a sheriff's report.
Charles Lee Fair, Jr., 39, of Johns Road in Laurinburg was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and driving while his license was revoked, the report said.
Deputies said they found approximately a half an ounce of marijuana on Fair, according to the report. Possession of a half once or less is a misdemeanor in the state of North Carolina.
Fair was placed in Scotland County jail under a $1,500 secured bond, the report said.
Boat stolen from parked truck
Someone stole a creek boat early Thursday morning from a Fancy Drive home in Maxton, according to a sheriff's report.
Donahue Bethea, 32, told deputies that a man knocked on his door and asked for gas at about 1:50 a.m. and that he noticed the boat was missing from the back of his truck., the report said.
The plastic boat had an estimated value of $600, according to the report.
