An Arkansas man was arrested in Scotland County for car theft, among other charges, according to a sheriff's report.
Nathan Edward Haynes, 27, of Frances Drive in Centerton, was pulled over on Highway 74 East Bypass in Laurinburg after having allegedly stolen gas in Richmond County.
Deputies quickly traced the white 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse to Wake county, where the car was reported as stolen, according to officials.
Officials said there were also warrants for Haynes from both the Wake County Sheriff's Office and the Raleigh police for financial card fraud.
Officials added that Haynes was on probation in Missouri for car theft.
Haynes was held in Scotland County jail until deputies from Wake County could transport him to the state seat for processing and prosecution.
