But one day it finally happens. You reach the magical age when you are a senior citizen. My definition of a senior citizen is someone older than me. Is that yours? Most of the people I know, really don’t believe they are old. My grandmother, we called her Muddy, (that’s another story) said to me when she was 90, you know I really don’t feel any different on the inside than I did when I was young, but I sure look different on the outside! Just the other day, I overheard a friend say, “I don’t look as old as he does, do I? “
Aging is an interesting part of life. Personally, I’m glad to be getting older. This year, I will be eligible for Senior Games. If you haven’t participated, stop by Scotland Place or go on-line and get some information. It’s really a lot of fun. There are both sports and cultural activities. Registrations are being taken until April 17, 2009. You must be 55 or older to participate.
At Scotland Place Senior Center, we are trying to plan for those of us who are Baby Boomers. Now a days there are often 3 generations in the “senior citizen” group, all with different interests and abilities.
Scotland Place is the hub of activities for what I will refer to as Mature Adults (since none of us are old). If you would like to find out what we offer, stop by on April 22nd from 4 to 6 pm for the open house. We will have representatives from all our activities and clubs present. Join the fun!
