Teens charged with burglary

Deputies have two Laurel Hill teens in custody on burglary charges, according to sheriff's reports.

Anthony James Menne, 17, of Rockingham Road and Chris Scott Campbell, 16, of McFarland Road were arrested and charged in two burglaries, one from Thursday and one from Saturday.

Menne and Campbell are each charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of larceny and two counts of conspiracy, the reports said.

Menne was also charged with two counts of larceny, breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, financial card theft, financial card fraud and identity theft, according to the reports.`

Campbell was placed in Scotland County jail under a $15,000 secured bond and Menne under a $30,000 secured bond, the report said.

The report indicated that a third individual been arrested in the Thursday burglary. The suspect's name was not listed on the report.

Racing bike reported stolen

A racing motorcycle valued at $25,000 was reported stolen to Laurinburg police, according to officials.

Police said Terrence Scott Jones, 42, of Knoxville, Tenn., reported a blue 2007 Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle stolen this weekend.

Jones told officers he was in town for the speed trials at the Laurinburg-Maxton Airport. He was staying at the Hampton Inn, where someone allegedly broke into his trailer and removed his motorcycle.

Police have no suspects in the case and suspect that the vehicle may have been dismantled and sold for parts.

Felon gun charge

A 37-year old Laurel Hill woman is charged with unlawful gun ownership, according to a sheriff's report.

The report said Tiffany Yolanda Cagle, of Rodgers Road, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.

State records show Cagle had several felony convictions, including one for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and 11 drug convictions.

Cagle was placed in Scotland County jail under a $10,000 secured bond.

Man charged as repeat offender

Deputies arrested a county resident for burglary, according to a sheriff's report.

James Allen Caulder, 28, is charged with burglary by forcible entry, larceny after breaking and entering and felony larceny, the report said.

State records show Caulder is on probation for larceny, breaking and entering and failure to stop for police. A conviction will likely activate his suspended sentence.

Caulder was placed in Scotland County jail under a $50,0000 secured bond.

Man arrested for assault

A Laurinburg man was arrested for assault, according to a sheriff's report.

According to the report, 43-year old Phillip Locklear of McLaughlin Road is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, the report said.

He was placed in Scotland County jail under a $10,000 secured bond.

The report did not list the victim.

Laurinburg man charged with B&E

A 22-year old Laurinburg man was arrested for a break-in, according to a sheriff's report.

Harrison John Slaughter, of Graham Court, is charged with breaking and entering and larceny after a breaking and entering, the report said.

Slaughter was placed in Scotland County jail under a $10,000 secured bond, according to the report.

Man charged in child support case

Deputies charged a Laurinburg man with failure to pay child support, according to a sheriff's report.

According to the report, 41-year old Ronnie McPherson of North Turnpike Road is charged with three counts of failing to appear in court for not paying his child support.

He owed in excess of $30,000 in back child support, the report said.
