Spring is here and with it the return of the annual flower sale put on by the Pilot Club of Laurinburg.
The sale is pre-order only and the deadline in April 1.
Flowers for sale are: Geraniums, Begonias, Million Bells, Hibiscus, Lantana, Potunias,SuperTunias, Gerber Daisies and Boston Ferns.
The pick up date is April 13 from 8:30am until 12 noon at the American Legion Building.
Proceeds are used to help the Alzheimer’s Support Group, Scotland High Student Art Project, BrainMinders, Adopt A Classroom, Autism Enhancement Program, Vial of Life and the Scotland High Anchor Club.
“The monies from the Annual Pilot Club Flower Sale is used to fund projects related to brain health such as Alzheimer’s and Autism,” said Pilot Club member Leslie McLaughlin, an event co-chair.
She said that money is also given to the schools to help with supplies for special needs classes.
“All these projects are done with money raised from the flower sale and other fundraisers throughout the year. This is how we give back to the community,” McLaughlin said.

“There are many types of flowers being sold this year: geraniums,begonias, ferns, million bells, lantana, and others,” McLaughlin said. “They are healthy flowers that will look beautiful all summer if maintained, and of course, the money is for a wonderful cause.”
