Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Jones Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Laurinburg, officiated by the Rev. T.R. Davis. The Rev. Walter Steele, III will provide the eulogy. Burial will follow in Matthew Chapel Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife Mary Helen Steele of Laurinburg, two sons: Liddel (Roberta) Hasty- of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Walter (Tomeka) Steele, III of Laurinburg, two daughters: Joyce Bradley and Annie (Louis) Timmons of Charlotte, four brothers, six sisters, 16 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
