On Tuesday, sheriff’s investigators arrested a suspected drug offender wanted from a December roundup.
Authorities say Brandon Grant, 25, was one of a dozen known offenders at large after the arrest of 17 in the sheriff’s “Look Who’s Made the Naughty List” operation at the end of last year.
After tracking him for three weeks, investigators arrested Grant at 309 Pitt St.
“Me and another investigator went over there with the warrant in hand and permission to search the property,” said Earl Haywood, narcotics investigator for the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office. “We found him hiding in the shower behind a curtain.”
Grant , who was on probation, was placed under no bond. About 0.02 gram of crack cocaine was found on his person at the time of his arrest, deputies said.
Grant was charged with one felony count of possession with intent to sell and deliver controlled substances, one felony count of sale and delivery of controlled substances, and one felony count of maintaining a dwelling for the sale of controlled substances.
“He knew what was up and he had every chance to turn himself in, but he never did it,” said Haywood.
Following Grant’s arrest, two of the offenders included in the December “naughty list” roundup remain at large.
