Encore! Theatre will hold auditions for its newest production today and Tuesday.
In collaboration with St. Andrews University, Encore! will present performances of Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lily by Katie Forgette.
“It’s a mystery whodunit with humor - typical Sherlock Holmes,” said Chris Wood, the show’s artistic director. “It’s very cleverly written.”
Wood, a Laurinburg attorney, is also director of St. Andrews theatre productions.
Auditions will be held at 11 a.m. today and on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Avinger Auditorium on the St. Andrews campus. The show will be performed four times throughout the weekend of April 18-21 at St. Andrews’ Morris Morgan Theatre.
Encore! is holding open casting for all parts, of which there are about 12. Auditions are open to anyone, and all older teenagers and adults are encouraged to audition.
“Although it is a family-friendly play, there are no young children’s parts,” Wood said
Those interested in contributing to the play without performing themselves are also needed for help with the technical and costuming aspects of the production.
