Marvin Franklin Bullock, 80, of Laurinburg passed away at his home on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 at Sandhills Free Will Baptist Church with burial following in the Church Cemetery. The Rev. Willie Jacobs will officiate the services.

Marvin was born on May 30, 1932 in Pitt County, a son of the late John and Marigold Padgett Bullock. He traveled the world with Petroleum Engineers building radio towers. He settled in Scotland County where he was the owner of a convenience store, auto sales, and the junk business. He served as a faithful member of the Sandhills Free Will Baptist Church. Marvin was a delightful man with a great sense of humor.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by son Kevin Deaver, great-grandson Brandon Morton, II, his brothers John Bullock, Curtis Bullock, Dennis, Bullock, and Cecil Bullock, and sisters Thelma Bullock, Lee Owens, and Novella Bullock.

Marvin is survived by his wife Janet G. Bullock of their home, son Michael Deaver and wife Dana of Hamlet, daughters Bobbie Jo Martin and husband Frankie of Wagram and Robbie Adams and husband Larry of Palm Dale, Calif., sister Barbara Jean Haddock, seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
