Mrs. Mary Alice Pate Smith, 72, of Wagram passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Morrison Manor in Laurinburg.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 at McColl Pentecostal Holiness Church, officiated by the Rev. D.J. Byrd. Burial will follow at Rogers Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan, 16, 2013 at McColl Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Born on Jan. 18, 1940 in Marlboro County, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Letha Mae Hodge Pate. Mrs. Smith attended McColl Pentecostal Holiness Church, and worked in production with J.P. Stevens. She loved to travel and loved her family.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Tommy Smith, son Timmy Smith, grandchild Memoreigh Childers, and brother-in-law Donald Orvin.

She is survived by her daughter Catherine Smith of Wagram, sisters Betty Mangum and husband Bob of McColl, S.C. and Loretta Orvin of McColl, grandchildren Pamela Willis of Wagram, Jennifer Childers and husband, Adam of Shallotte, and T.J. Holland of Shallotte, great-grandchildren Joseph Robbins, Jr., Ali Willis, Caydence Childers, Ashlynn Childers, Jason Holland, and Elizabeth Willis, nephew Donald Orvin and wife Carole of Laurinburg, nieces Debra Baldwin and husband, Cory of Laurinburg, Karen Frostick of Fredricksburg , Va., and Susan Roller and husband John of McColl, 10 great-nieces and nephews, and one great-great-nephew.
