The Lady Scots improved to 5-1 and 2-0 in the Mid-Southeastern 4-A Conference with the win. SHS rolled up 18 hits in the game, easily the team's most prolific offensive showing thus far.
Brittany Gibson was 4-for-4 with three doubles and two runs batted in. Whitney Britt went 4-for-4 as well with a double and one RBI.
Lindsey Wright was 2-for-3 with a double and three runs driven in. Lauren Medlin went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
Jessica Milligan got the win on the mound. She pitched all five innings, striking out seven Eagles while allowing just three hits.
A great sign for Scotland was the return of senior shortstop Colby Liles. Liles, who suffered a major knee injury during volleyball season, had a double in her only at-bat on Friday.
"She got released by the doctor earlier this week, and she had been coming to practice and doing some small things," said SHS head coach Patrick Williams. "Looking at her this week, she's looking like the old Colby.
"Having her back adds another dimension to our game, and it's something to be reckoned with."
Scotland plays at Purnell Swett on Monday at 5 p.m.
