Bob’s Jewel Shop has once again demonstrated its extraordinary commitment to Hospice of Scotland County, donating an exquisite prize for the annual Diamond in the Rough raffle for the eighth consecutive year.

Each year, the family donates a prize for the raffle in memory of their husband and father, Lawson “Bob” McCabe, who died in 1998. As recipients of care from Hospice of Scotland County, the McCabes make this generous donation to allow other families to receive the gift of hospice care in the future.

Longtime Hospice volunteers Margaret Ivey and Christine Monroe spent many hours with Bob McCabe during his illness. They recently joined Gertrude McCabe and Theresa McCabe Alexander to unveil this year’s raffle prize, a 1-carat total weight, 3-stone diamond white gold pendant.

The Diamond in the Rough raffle is held in conjunction with the 23rd annual Richard L. Byrne Memorial Golf Tournament, scheduled for April 28-29 at Scotch Meadows Country Club. The raffle drawing will be held Wednesday, April 29, and the winner does not have to be present to win.

“We are grateful to Bob’s Jewel Shop and the McCabe family for their remarkable support,” said Jane Murray, Executive Director of Hospice of Scotland County. “The Diamond in the Rough raffle has become one of the highlights of the golf tournament, thanks to their unwavering commitment and generosity.”

Raffle tickets are $10 and are available at the Hospice office. Tickets may also be purchased at Eaton Corporation, Scotch Meadows Country Club, Scotland Cancer Treatment Center, Hair-itage Styling Salon and Home Assist Medical Equipment. Tickets are also available at the following locations in downtown Laurinburg: Bob’s Jewel Shop, The Daily Grind, Harley’s Tuxedo & Gifts, Sassie Lassie, Art by Design and ShirtTales.
