Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Rho Alpha Omega Chapter will celebrate its 25th anniversary Saturday at 2 p.m. at Galilee United Methodist Church.
The guest speaker will be Gloria Dudley from the Upsilon Sigma Omega Chapter of AKA from South Carolina.
The event will include the unveiling a historical chapter video and a performance for the Rho Alpha Omega Chorus under the direction of Beverly Satterfield.
Rho Alpha Omega Chapter was chartered in Laurinburg, on June 27, 1987 with 15 members and five still remain active with the group.
The sorority works to provide scholarships, tutoring, mentoring and assisting other organization to meet the needs of the community. The president is Shirley Alford and the vice president is Barbara Ellison.
