Hale used 67 pitches to toss a perfect game, sitting down every Lumberton batter she faced and striking out 12 in her team's 12-0 Wednesday afternoon win.
"It was kind of boring for all of the other players because of the way (Hale) dominated on the mound," said JV head coach Joel McCanna, pleased with Hale's work.
Scotland spread out the runs against Lumberton, plating one in the first, three in the second, four in the third and four more in the fourth inning on nine hits.
Sarah Cross (3-for-4, run), Paige Butler (2-for-2, 3 runs, walk), and the ever-present Hale (2-for-2, 3 runs, walk) did more than enough to see the Scots to victory on the offensive side.
Butler, who had a two run home run and a stand up double, was another target of McCanna's praise following the game.
"She has come to life the way I knew she could, going 5-for-6 in the last two games."
In a game where all 13 Scots played, McCanna was pleased uniformly with the effort, saying that "the girls played hard."
Scotland will look to continue their 4-0 season start at home next Tuesday against Pinecrest, starting at 5 p.m.
In the face of perfection, McCanna emphasized the importance of getting right back to the practice field so that the success may continue.
"We have a couple of days of practice to work the kinks out, and sharpen up," commented McCanna.
