The second annual storytelling festival will be held April 24 to 26 on the grounds of the Historic John Blue House.

The 2009 festival features nationally acclaimed storytellers, including four- time Grammy winner Bill Harley, Bil Lepp, Lyn Ford, and Antonio Rocha. Each of the featured tellers will also present professional workshops offering Continuing Education Units.

Regional tellers include Grammy winner Willa Brigham from Raleigh, and Hannah Harvey from Atalnta, Georgia.

New this year, the festival has added a Friday evening Storytelling Sampler that will be held at the new Storytelling Arts Center in Downtown Historic Laurinburg. In addition, the Storytelling Festival of Carolina features a children’s place area and an open mike stage for budding tellers.

Once again Cypress Bend Vineyard will host the Meet the Teller Music and Storytelling Gala on Saturday evening, featuring the Jim Morgan Jazz Band and our four nationally acclaimed featured storytellers. Those who register before March 31 can take advantage of the Early Bird registration discounts.
