1 Timothy 2: 8 – “I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere…”
Paul is writing to a young preacher-boy, Timothy. In this book he is imparting wisdom to this young preacher on the ways of the church and God’s people. He is being a mentor to a young man. He gives Timothy some warnings at the start of the danger of heresy in teachings in the church can slip in. So, Paul instructs Timothy that it is vital to pray. He ties this to our being able to live a peaceful life. When we seek God for those who are in authority, we can see our nation restored to the foundations that our forefathers built it upon. The foundation and pillars of God’s revealed Word. Do we want to see America strong? It will come when believers turn their hearts and prayers to God – we pray and we can have a New Hope for Tomorrow (and Today).
