E. Laurinburg man arrested for methadone

Deputies arrested a 45-year old East Laurinburg man for allegedly selling methadone.

James Pittman, of 8th Street, is charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance, selling a schedule II controlled substance and maintaining a dwelling.

He was placed in Scotland County jail under a $20,000 secured bond.

Laurinburg man victim of shooting

A Laurinburg man was allegedly shot outside his home on Dave Road, according to a sheriff's report.

Jeff Rollins, 46, was struck by shotgun pellets at around 10:30 p.m.

The report said the case was closed for lack of leads.

Man arrested for fraud

Deputies arrested a 23-year old Laurinburg man for fraud, according to a sheriff's report.

The report said Chris Ingram, of Barnhill Circle, is charged with obtaining money and/or property through false pretense and making a false report to a police station.

He is in Scotland County jail under a $3,000 secured bond.

SCSO arrests Rowland man for B&Es

Law enforcement have an alleged burglar in custody, according to a sheriff's report.

According to a sheriff's report, 23-year old Trellis Marquis Campbell, of Rowland, was arrested and charged with two counts of breaking and entering, count of breaking and entering - motor vehicle, conspiracy, larceny and two counts of larceny after breaking and entering.

Campbell is in Scotland County jail under a $20,000 secured bond.

Deputies arrest alleged deadbeat dad

A Lumberton man was taken to jail this week on child support charges, according to a sheriff's report.

John H. Smith III, 29, is charged with failure to appear in court in relation to not paying child support.

The report said he owes nearly $20,000 in back child support.
