Some 100 emergency responders brought their families to Springhill-Friendship Volunteer Fire Department last Saturday for the Scotland County Firemen’s Association Family Fun Day.

The event was held for the families of firemen and other emergecy personnel, with children’s games and fire trucks present from all of Scotland County’s fire departments.

Also during the event, a helicopter demonstrated a landing on the Springhill Fire Department’s recently completed helipad. The helipad will be used as a fixed location for local emergency responders to meet medical helicopters and hand over those severely injured in accidents or fires.
