Jeremiah 18: 7,8 – “The instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, to pull down, and to destroy it, if that nation against whom I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I thought to bring upon it.
God is not a vengeful monster sitting in the Heavens deciding who or what He will keep or destroy. He is in fact sitting in Heaven and allowing us to make our own choices. Oh, He spells out what is the right choice; however, He never forces anyone to make that choice. Someone once asked how a loving God could send anyone to Hell. The answer came back that He never sends anyone to Hell; they choose to go there on their own. He shows the right pathway that leads to Heaven and if one chooses to take the wrong one, it is their own free choice. One thing – along the way He allows U-Turns. When a person sees that they are going the wrong way, He allows them to U-Turn (called repentance in spiritual lingo) and chose the right path. Today, choose Christ – the right path and find a New Hope for Today.
