Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23 at Multitudes Church officiated by the Rev. Dr. Thomas Marshall. Burial with law enforcement honors will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Norris Butler of Aberdeen, his companion, Lisa Torrealba of Laurel Hill, his son, Trey Butler of Indianapolis, his daughters, Whitney Butler and Sarah Beth Butler of Indianapolis, his step-daughter, Teri Barrington of Virginia, his parents, G. Thomas Butler and Sherry Sellers Butler of Laurel Hill, his brother, Tony Butler of Laurinburg, his sister, Melanie Hester of Laurel Hill and his granddaughters, Patton Butler and Sophie Butler of Indianapolis.
He was born September 5, 1967 in Marlboro County, and served for over four years with the Scotland County EMS before beginning his 23 ½ years of service with the Scotland county Sheriff’s Department.
In his spare time Tommy enjoyed working on cars, studying old cars, attending car shows and restoring old cars. He also enjoyed fishing.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
