"Anyone who is interested in singing solo or performing on any kind of instrument is welcome to take part," McGirt said. "This event is open to everyone."
The idea originated with church music director Linda Faulkner.
"This is our first event of this kind, but we plan to hold this praise service on the last Sunday of every month from now on," Faulkner said.
Faulkner wanted to develop the event "because there are people who might not go to worship services, but who nevertheless like to sing," she said. "We thought this would be a good way for people of different churches to get together in a very informal setting and have a good time."
McGirt and Faulkner hope for a good turnout for the inaugural event.
"We'd like to invite everyone in the community to come join us," McGirt said. "Let's praise God together with music."
