St. Andrews faculty member to receive prestigious national award
Erin Fox of St. Andrews Presbyterian College is one of five people nationally who will receive the 2009 Annuit Coeptis Emerging Professional award from the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) this spring.
Fox is the director of first-year programming at St. Andrews.
“Erin is an exceptional young professional in the field of Student Affairs,” said Marti Newbold, dean of students. “She supports the educational mission of the college with creativity and skill. St. Andrews is very fortunate to have someone with her level of expertise. It is wonderful that her peers at ACPA also recognize her gifts.”
Fox will receive the award on March 31 in Washington, D.C., at the national conference for the ACPA.
“You should be very proud of receiving this award and also of your accomplishments in your professional journey,” wrote Delight Champagne, professor and program coordinator for the Student Personnel Administration in Higher Education. “Your nominators spoke highly of your work and how deserving you were of this honor.”
The Annuit Coeptis Award also annually honors three senior professionals. The eight recipients meet at a dinner for professional sharing and intellectual debate.
“Erin sets such a wonderful example as a student affairs professional,” said Jenn Bruner, assistant dean of students. “The dedication to her work here at the college as well as to the profession as a whole set her apart from so many new professionals. She is loved by her students, her co-workers and her professional peers. We are so very blessed to have her here at St. Andrews.”
The ACPA is the leading comprehensive student affairs association that advances student affairs and engages students for a lifetime of learning and discovery. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the association has nearly 9,000 members representing 1,500 private and public institutions from across the United States and around the world.
