Laurinburg police are investigating a shooting Tuesday night that left one person dead and another in the hospital.
The shooting, which occurred just off West Boulevard, took the life of 18-year-old Larry Wayne Goodwin, according to police. Goodwin, who lived on Anne Street, was found inside the home with a fatal gunshot wound, police said.
The shooting happened at about 6 p.m. at 808 Tarboro St.
Also injured was Jennifer Megan Easterling, who according to reports, lived at the Tarboro Street home. Easterling, 25, was shot once and was taken to an area hospital. Her condition is not known.
It is unclear if an arrest has been made in the shooting, but police do “have a person of interest at this time,” according to Lt. Marc Godwin of the Laurinburg Department.
“It is not known how the two individuals knew each other at this time,” Godwin said.
Police are expected to release more details later today.
