“These seminars will bring the history of the college to life through the words of current and past professors, students and staff discussing their views of the College when they first came,” said Rita Dursi Johnson, library director.
Recollecting Student Life will allow a panel of four alumni currently employed by the College to share insights on the student experience during their era.
On the panel are Director of Logistics and Photography Rooney Coffman of the class of 1968, Director of Career Services Renée Jones of the class of 1985, Controller Meke Reese-Ritchey of the class of 1996 and Assistant Director of Communications Melissa Hopkins of the class of 2000.
“By having representatives of these different eras, we hope to provide a full overview of the experiences of our students at St. Andrews throughout the history in Laurinburg,” Johnson said.
A brief reception will begin at 4 p.m. with the lecture beginning at 4:30 p.m. under the moderation of Dr. George E. Melton, distinguished professor of history at St. Andrews.
Semi-Centennial Sketches are free and the public is invited to attend.
The Semi-Centennial Sketches will conclude with Our Alumni Come Home on April 16, featuring the insights of several alumni who have graduated from St. Andrews and return to the institution in higher administration and faculty roles.
