This morning, you can do it by bringing taking yourself and your appetite to the annual unity breakfast at Jones Chapel Baptist Church.
On Monday, you can do it with your feet by taking part in the King day march.
The march, which is more than 20 years old, will begin at 9 a.m. with walkers gathering at Badcock Furniture and then proceeding down Main Street to Bright Hopewell Baptist Church for a special program.
"It's something significant we do to recognize that we have had some successes and that we still have a long way to go," said state Rep. Garland Pierce, one of the march organizers.
In the past as many as 500 have participated in the march. With President-elect Barack Obama to be sworn-in on Tuesday, Monday's events will take on a special meaning in light of what the slain civil rights leader stood for, organizers say.
Bright Hopewell's program will include speaker Rev. Gregory Taylor of First Baptist Church in Bladenboro. Taylor is the moderator of the Lumber River Baptist Association, and a graduate of the Morehouse School of Religion -- the same school where King studied.
Scotland High School's Imani Gospel Choir will be providing music during the program, and local storyteller Tyrus Jones will also speak.
Those not interested in marching should be at the church by 10 a.m., Pierce said.
