U.S. Rep. Larry Kissell will hold a public swearing in ceremony Friday at 5 p.m. in his home district. Kissell represents the 8th District, which includes Scotland County.

The ceremony will be held at the East Montgomery High School Auditorium in Biscoe. The school is at 157 Eagle Lane, Biscoe.

Millie Yongue of Laurinburg attended Kissell's swearing in in Washington.

"We got to meet with Larry Kissell," Yongue said. "He had a little free time before going to be sworn in.

"We were there when C-Span was interviewing," Yongue said. "They were so happy that we came earlier than they thought we would because it made a good showing for them"

She described a packed house for his swearing-in ceremony.

The group also got a tour.

"We didn't get to see the actual congressional floor thats used today, but we saw the old house floors and where the Supreme Court had met," Morrissey said.

It was an exciting trip for her and the rest that went, and she is glad she went.
