Authorities have arrested a Virginia man in connection with a Laurel Hill teenager who went missing last week.

Michael Nierras Onrubia, 32, of Manassas Park, was arrested around midnight on Wednesday, according to Sheriff Shep Jones. The arrest was made at Onrubia’s home at 111 Colfax Drive.

He is accused of kidnapping 14-year-old Raven English, who disappeared from her Lennon Drive home on Aug. 2. Neighbors suspected that she had left home with a middle-aged man seen driving a late model Buick Riviera in the neighborhood.

English’s mother, Melissa Hatcher, suspected that she had met the man through Facebook.

English was returned home on Monday after being dropped off at a Wal-Mart in Wilson. She maintained that she had been with a female friend, but police pursued a separate line of inquiry.

“We had three investigators working on this full-time since [English] returned home,” Jones said.

Onrubia was located based upon information gathered from English’s laptop computer.

“We’ve got investigators that actually monitor computer activity and we’ll continue to work and track these people down and let him know that such behavior is unwelcome in Scotland County,” said Jones.

Onrubia was charged with first degree kidnapping as well as soliciting a child online. He is being held at the Scotland County Detention Center under a $200,000 secured bond.
