The Child Service Coordination Program at Scotland County Health Department provides services to families of children birth to age three that are referred either by the parent or a provider (i.e. Physician, Daycare Center, Social Services or Hospital). Child Service Coordinators work with children who are at risk for developmental delay due to environmental conditions (i.e. lack of stable housing, lack of family and social support, parenting skills, parental mental illness) and also work with children age three to five that have a diagnosed condition. We offer home visiting to provide assessment of family needs and give support to families by providing information and linking families with available resources to meet the families’ needs. Child Service Coordinators advocate for families by acting as a collateral resource for those with no family support to obtain community resources and provide referrals to available resources for those families in need.
Child Service Coordination Services are available to families five days a week with office hours from 8:00 - 5:00 Monday through Friday. Families or providers interested in information or making a referral, should call Kimberly McLamb or Rachel Peguese at (910) 277-2440. The Child Service Coordination program is free of charge and is available as a walk-in service through the Scotland County Health Department.
