The Scotland High School girls’ soccer team will hit the road next week for two away contests.

As we move into the second month of the Scotland County sports’ spring schedule, the weather has taken an ugly turn, cancelling over a dozen games in the area this past week.

While the teams may have to continue to fight through the pouring rain heading into next week, the weather wont damper fans excitement.

Here’s a look ahead to what’s coming up this week in Scotland County sports:

Rainouts/Cancelation

Due to the adverse weather, the Scotland High School girls’ soccer games were canceled Wednesday. The games have been moved to tonight at Richmond County. The junior varsity team will play at 5:30 p.m., with the varsity game to follow.

The SHS boys’ tennis match at Purnell Swett scheduled for March 31 has been postponed to April 6 at Purnell.

The track team will make up their meet scheduled for yesterday on Monday, April 4, at Hoke.

SHS Baseball

The Scotland High School baseball teams will play a combined six games over the coming week. The varsity Scots travel to Lumberton tonight for a 7 p.m. contest before hosting Terry Sanford at home next week on April 7. The Scots will be on the road again Friday, April 8, to face Purnell Swett. Scotland will play Lumberton and Purnell in 7 p.m. games, while facing Terry Sanford in a 5 p.m. out-of-conference contest.

The junior varsity team will host two games in the coming week, starting with Richmond tonight at 5 p.m. The Scots will travel to Terry Sanford next Thursday before closing the week with Purnell at home next Friday. All games start at 5 p.m.

SHS Softball

The varsity Scots’ softball team will hit the road today at Richmond for a 5 p.m. game. The team will host Terry Sanford on April 7 before closing at Purnell next Friday. Scotland will face off against Terry Sanford at 5 p.m. before traveling to the Rams for a 7 p.m. start time.

The junior varsity program will host Richmond and Purnell, while traveling to Terry Sanford next week.

The Scots will take on the Raiders at home tonight before going to Terry Sanford next week. Scotland closes with a home contest against the Rams next Friday. All games start at 5 p.m.

SHS Soccer

Scotland will hit the road for two games next week, starting at Southern Lee on April 4.

The Lady Scots will travel to Purnell on April 6 in league action.

The junior varsity games are set to begin at 5:30 p.m., with the varsity games to follow.

SHS Track, Tennis and Golf

The Scotland boys’ and girls’ track and field teams will travel to Richmond on April 7.

The SHS boys’ tennis team will host Pinecrest and Hoke next week, taking on the Patriots on April 5 before hosting Hoke in their final home game of the season on April 7.

The golf team will travel to Pinehurst National on March 4.
