The Laurinburg Exchange invites readers to journey down memory lane as we display vintage photographs from our archives.
Last week, we asked readers to help us identify a number of civic clubs and their members. Several of you wrote in to help.
Rebecca Brooks said she recognized picture #4. Brooks said the photograph was taken at a Woman’s Missionary Union meeting at the First Baptist Church in Maxton. This was during Maxton’s Centennial in 1974. While unable to identify the first woman to the left, Brooks said she recognized Edna Jones, Jane King (Pastor’s wife), Christine Vann, and Pastor Phillip King in back.
“This is my home church and I was there,” Brooks wrote.
Priscilla M. Thompson seemed to recognize most of the other photos from last week. She wrote that
— Picture #2: First Row: Left to right, Unknown; Peggy Gibson (Mrs. Herbert Martin Gibson, Jr); Liza Pat McMillan Butler (Mrs. Harvey H. Butler, Sr). The lady behind them is Mary Ann McLean (Mrs. Floyd McLean, Jr).
— Picture #3: Left to right, Bill Williamson, Unknown, J. C. Tyson.
— Picture #5: Left to right, Curt Ramsey, Unknown, Kelly Pearson.
