Mr. Edward L. White, 58, of 401 Gulf St., Laurinburg, died Jan. 4, 2009 at Scotland Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Jan. 9, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Solid Rock Baptist Church. Burial will be at Hillside Memorial with visitation on Jan. 8, 2009 at 4 p.m. at Jackson Chapel in Laurinburg.
Survivors are his wife, Willa White; daughters Dawn Youngblood, Tanja White, and Edwena White, all of Laurinburg; brothers Scott White, Jr. and Lewis White of Laurinburg; and sisters Daisy Anderson and Hattie McCrimmon of Laurinburg.

Mr. Alexander Kelly, Jr., 59, of 817 Cary St., Laurinburg, died Friday, Jan. 2, 2009 at Morrison Manor in Laurinburg. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009 at 1 p.m. at St. Mary’s A.M.E. Zion Church in Laurel Hill. The Rev. Charles Ingram will officiate. Burial will be at Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery in Laurinburg. Visitation will be at McPhatter Funeral Home in Laurel Hill on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009 from 6 to 7 p.m.
Survivors are three sons, Ron Kelly, Don Kelly, and James Carmichael of Charlotte; three daughters, Kimberly Kelly of Washington, D.C., and Patricia Gibson and LaToya Graham of Laurinburg; four brothers, John Kelly of Wagram, Ernest James Kelly and Curtis Leak of Laurinburg, and Alex Leonard of Rockingham; and three sisters, Lena Wilson, Hattie Lendon and Juanita McIntyre of Laurinburg.
