Paula G. Blackburn has been named director of nursing at Scotia Village.

Blackburn brings more than 14 years of experience to her new role. Most recently she served as the MDS Coordinator for Scotia Village. She has also worked as a medical-surgical nurse, lead orthopedic/charge nurse for Surgical Services, manager of surgical services, director of nursing for an assisted living community, and patient/staff educator for an acute care facility. In addition to having a BS degree in nursing from UNCP, she also holds certification with the Association of Operating Room Nurses and is affiliated with the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators.

“We are so excited to have someone of Paula’s caliber to fill our Director of Nursing position,” said Clarell Litchford, Executive Director of Scotia Village. “The director of nursing is a vital position within our community and I think Paula is going to do a great job.”

Blackburn lives in Laurinburg with her husband Randy Blackburn, where they are members of Laurinburg Presbyterian Church.
