RALEIGH — Emily Katelyn DeBerry, a student at Scotland Early College High School, recently served as a page in the North Carolina Senate.
The daughter of Tony and Josie DeBerry of Laurinburg, DeBerry was sponsored by state Sen. Tom McInnis and appointed by Senate President Pro Tempore Phil Berger.
High-school students serve as pages when the General Assembly is in session, attending daily sessions and meetings and assisting staff members with office duties.
