LAURINBURG — The Scotia Village Repertory Theater will perform the melodrama “The Perils of Priscilla” this weekend.

The production will premier on Friday at 7 p.m. and will be performed again on Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Morris Morgan Entertainment Center at Scotia Village.

The play is based on a short film about a house cat named Priscilla that spends a day in the city of Los Angeles.

Actors in the play have been rehearsing three days a week, while others have been working on costumes, playbill design, music, properties and sets.

Included on the program will be the Melancholy Babies barbershop chorus and The Four Granddads, Scotia Village’s own newly formed barbershop quartet.

There is no charge for the event, but donations will be accepted to help fund future productions.
