LAURINBURG — There are a fair number of Scotland High School graduates that go on to play some level of college athletics after they leave Laurinburg. Below are two Scotland High School grads, one from the Class of 2014 and the other from the Class of 2015, that are excelling in their chosen sports.

2015 Scotland High School graduate Destiny Campbell

A 2015 SHS graduate Destiny Campbell currently plays for Cape Fear Community College. Campbell is a forward for the Lady Sea Devils and recently made history with the school’s first triple double.

Lasts week, Campbell helped her team defeated Bryant & Stratton College, 77-48 by recording a triple double — with 22 points, 10 rebounds and 11 blocks.

The Lady Sea Devils head coach Drake had nothing but praise for both Campbell earning the first triple-double in school history. Drake was ecstatic that she rose to the occasion defensively, recording just one foul in route to 11 blocks.

“Just impressive all the way around,” Drake said in a news release from Cape Fear CC. “I challenged her to sit down and play [defense].”

The win improves Cape Fear CC to 23-4 on the season, and 15-2 in conference play.

2014 SHS graduate Dylan Ward
