St. Andrew’s Brennan Broadaway named AAC Pitcher of the Week

ASHEVILLE — Lady Knights freshman pitcher Brennan Broadaway has been named this week’s Appalachian Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Broadaway helped the Lady Knights earn a split with Tennessee Wesleyan. The freshman shut out Tennessee Wesleyan in game two as she pitched seven innings allowing just four hits to earn her fourth win of the season. Broadaway also held Shaw University scoreless over four innings to get the win.

Her 2-1 week saw Broadaway finish with a 0.98 ERA, the Lady Knights only loss of the week came against rival UNC-Pembroke. Overall, the freshman is 4-6 this season with a 3.82 ERA to go along with 21 strikeouts over 55 innings.

In the batter’s box, Broadaway is hitting .356 for the Lady Knights with 21 hits and 16 RBIs.

With her help, St. Andrews is 9-15 on the season and will be in action today hosting Truett-McConnell at 1 p.m.
