LAURINBURG — Carver and Spring Hill middle schools have announced their annual baseball, softball and soccer games.
The softball and soccer games will be played on Wednesday, March 22 at the high school soccer fields. The girls will play first at 5:15 p.m. followed by the boy’s team at 6:15 p.m.
Softball will also be in action on March 22 at 6 p.m. on the high school’s softball field, located directly behind the soccer field.
Parents and fans planning to attend either softball or soccer will pay at the gate, at the front of the high school where students are dropped off. Gates will open one hour before game time.
Players and parents should also note the wooden bridge on the left side of the soccer field has been removed and a new concrete one has been built on the other side by the gym entrance. Parents, players and fans are asked to enter from the right side and will have to cross to get to both fields.
Students will not be allowed to run and play between the soccer and softball fields for safety reasons.
The Carver vs. Spring Hill baseball game was originally scheduled for next Monday, March 13 but had to be moved due to the Scotland County Schools Board of Education meeting taking place at the same time.
The baseball game has been moved to Wednesday, April 12 at 6 p.m. at McCoy Field.
Just like with softball and soccer, the baseball game will have one entrance, on the visitor’s side parking lot by Pate Stadium were fans will be asked to enter. Gates will open one hour before game time.
Students will not be allowed to run and play behind the bleachers and in the bathrooms. Fans are also encouraged to throw away their trash, the grounds were left in bad shape following last year’s game.
