LAURINBURG — Scotland County Parks and Recreation fall sports registration continues at Scotland Place or Wagram Recreation Center through next Friday.

Parks and Rec will be offering soccer, football, volleyball and cheerleading this fall and registration ends Aug. 11. The cost is $15 per participant.

Soccer has added a three-year-old age group this year, so that program will be available to boys and girls ages three to 14. Children participating in soccer will also receive new uniforms that were purchased in the off season.

Additions were also made the football and cheerleading programs. Parks and Rec will now be offering flag football and a cheerleading league for five and six-year-old boys and girls. Cheerleading will be offered to children up to age 12.

Flag football will have 5u and 6u teams along with an 8u team. Tackle football will have two leagues this year, a 10u and 12u team. Football games and practices will be held at Legion Park.

Parks and Rec is also introducing a new aspect to the football program, the Scotland County (NFL) Combine.

“This exciting opportunity will give every football player an opportunity to showcase their skills to prepare for the draft,” according to the organization’s website.

This year’s volleyball program will be for girls in fifth and sixth grade.

“We have to have participation to make these exciting times possible so help us spread the word and make memories for years to come,” the website goes on to read.
