LAURINBURG — Scotch Meadows Country Club will host its annual Junior Golf and Swim Camp beginning July 24.
The three-day camp runs Monday through Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The cost is $50 for children or grandchildren of Scotch Meadows members and is $60 for non-members.
Instructors for this year’s camp include Scotch Meadows PGA Professional Chip Wells, St. Andrews golf coach William Carter and University of North Carolina at Pembroke golf coach David Synan.
Collegiate players from both universities will also be on hand to help campers learn the basics of the game.
The cost of the camp includes general golf instruction including work on the driving range, chipping, putting and proper golf etiquette. Instructors will assist campers in improving or creating their swing, practicing their mechanics and learning to follow the rules of golf, like choosing the proper tees, according to their skill level, to tee off from and always remembering which ball is theirs during a round.
Campers will also get to swim at the country club’s pool and receive a T-shirt and lunch on July 26.
