SILVIS, Ill. — St. Andrews University men’s golfer and AAC Tournament Champion Joe Hurn began his quest for an individual national title on Tuesday. Hurn teed off on the 10th hole at the NAIA Championships at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill.

The St. Andrews’ junior, out of Mountaintop, Pa, won the AAC title with a 3-under-par 213 to finish as the individual champion is representing the AAC at the NAIA National Championship. If Hurn makes the cut by placing in the top 40 after three rounds he will advance to the fourth and final round on Friday.

St. Andrews sophomore and AAC Ladies Tournament Champion Lydia Randell, out of Walnut Cove, will begin her quest for a national title next week from the NAIA Women’s Golf National Championships at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. The 23rd annual event will take place May 23-26.

Randell won the AAC tournament individual title back last month shooting a school record 70 in the first round and a 147 overall to win the event.

Randell will tee off at approximately 2:20 p.m. on the 10th hole on Tuesday, May 23 before beginning her second round on May 24 at 9:10 a.m. from the first hole.
