Scotland licence plate agency to close
The license plate agency in Scotland County ias set to close next month. But that could change if the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles finds a successful applicant to operate the service. DMV officials said on Monday that the current contract for the agency is concluding. First United Methodist Church in Laurinburg will be having Noon Lenten services each Wednesday in the Nettie Hammond Building. Gum Swamp bridge to be replaced
A bridge project near laurinburg will begin this Monday, according to the state Department of Transportation. The project is expected to cost about $1.7 million to place a new bridge over Gum Swamp Creek, northwest of Laurinburg.
