Selling marijuana out of two women’s homes simultaneously caught up with Earl Morrison after both residences were investigated on Friday, according to the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office.
Morrison, 38, of 94 Raleigh St., was arrested on Friday morning. The arrest took place at 603 Douglas St., the home of acquaintance Lizzie Patrice McLean, 35, lawmen said. Morrison is known to use the address as a base for selling marijuana, according to Narcotics Investigator Earl Haywood of the Sheriff’s Office.
Haywood said officers seized 16.4 grams of marijuana that had been packaged and prepared for sale, as well as an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency, several items of drug paraphernalia, several firearms, and a bulletproof vest.
At the same time, with the assistance of a SWAT Team from the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office, officers investigated another address linked to Morrison, lawmen said.
At 924 Apt. A Kinston St. in Laurinburg, 5.5 grams of packaged marijuana were recovered, as were scales and other items.
The apartment’s inhabitant, 24-year-old Kendra Parker, is another acquaintance of Morrison’s, lawmen said. She was charged with one count of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, and one count of maintaining a dwelling for the sale of a controlled substance, the Sheriff’s Office said.
“These two addresses were hit simultaneously during my investigation — Morrison sold dope from both addresses and, as a result, similar narcotics were found in both residences linked to the investigation,” Haywood said.
Parker was placed under a $5,000 secured bond.
Morrison and McLean were both charged with one count each of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver Schedule III prescription dosage units/oxycodone derivatives, maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of selling a controlled substance, felony conspiracy, simple possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were each placed under a $50,000 secured bond pending a May 14 court date.
