Police have made an arrest in last month’s shooting deaths of Larry Goodwin and Jennifer Easterling.
Terry Edward Lowery, 24, of 1104 Washington St., was arrested Thursday at the Laurinburg Police Department after being brought in by a family member.
Lowery is expected to make his first appearance in court today.
He is accused of the June 19 double homicide of Goodwin and Easterling were shot inside Easterling’s Tarboro Street home. Goodwin, 18, was found dead on the scene from a gunshot wound to the head. Easterling, 25, died of a similar wound two days later at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
Lowery is the former boyfriend of Easterling, authorities said.
Lowery has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of kidnapping, one count of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, one count of burglary, and one count of discharging a firearm in the city limits. Lowery was also served with a warrant issued by the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office for financial card fraud.
Lowery was placed in Scotland County jail with no bond for the murder charges. His bond was set at $1 million for the remaining charges.
