“Dinner and a show”, a night-out staple in larger cities, is not an option often available to Scotland County locals looking for fun on the town.
That will all change when ENCORE! Theatre presents its dinner theatre presentation of “ACTS: A Night of Funspiration,” featuring five funny, faith-based skits at the Storytelling Arts Center of the Southeast in downtown Laurinburg.
ENCORE! Chairman Allen Johnson calls the series, which will run April 26-28 at 7 p.m. with a matinee showing on April 28 at 1 p.m., “a series of faith-based skits, most of which are funny and feature some really funny guys.”
The group, which last staged “Tuesday’s With Morrie” in February, has been rehearsing this week in preparation for the show’s three-day run.
“I am excited that we are presenting this series of one-acts,” said ENCORE! member Chris Wood, who assumed directorial duties on the project.
“It will be a fun mix of a little drama and a lot of comedy. Throw in the food, and how could the night get any better?,” added Wood.
Jerry’s Deli and Grill of Laurinburg will be catering the event.
Reservations are required for the event and can be made by calling 384-4516. Tickets are $20.
