Jersey Mike’s Subs in Laurinburg recently donated more than $1,400 to Hospice of Scotland County as part of the company’s national Make A Difference Day.
Ron Gibson, owner of Gibson Oil and Gas Co., and the Laurinburg Jersey Mike’s franchise, joined David Hibbard of Hospice and store manager Renaughta Kee to present a check for $1,420.80 to Hospice of Scotland County. The total represented half of the restaurant’s proceeds on March 28, which Jersey Mike’s designates as Make A Difference Day. Across the country, Jersey Mike’s franchises select a local non-profit or charity to support through the promotion.
“We are grateful to Jersey Mike’s for their generous support of our work,” said David Hibbard, director of public relations. “It was also gratifying to see so many people turn out at Jersey Mike’s on March 28. The support of the community and Jersey Mike’s will allow us to continue providing excellent care to our hospice patients and families.”
“It is our privilege to be able to support Hospice of Scotland County,” said Gibson. “Hospice plays a vital role in Scotland County and the surrounding communities, and we are glad to give back to our local hospice in this way.”
