Martha Ann Roller Chavis, 72, of Laurinburg passed away at her home on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013 at New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church officiated by Pastor Dwayne Powers. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.

Martha was a daughter of the late James Henry Roller and Annie Christine Jackson Roller born on March 30, 1940. She was the loving wife to the late Zeb Edward Chavis. She was a devoted homemaker and retired from Abbott Laboratories after many years of service. She faithfully served the Lord and was a member of the New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church. She enjoyed working in her yard and was an avid house keeper. Martha will be cherished as a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.

She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Violet McPherson.

Martha leaves to cherish her memory her son Phillip Edward Chavis and wife Wanda of Laurinburg, daughter Teresa C. Sutherland of Laurinburg, brother James “Buddy” Roller and wife Irene of Bennettsville, S.C., two sisters: Wanda Gail Roller of Laurel Hill and Patricia R. Blake and husband Eddie of Bennettsville, six grandchildren: Susan, Chester, April, Ashley, Chad, and Kenny Ray, six great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
