Willie Edward "Teenie" Smith, Sr., 61, of Maxton, passed away on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012.

A funeral service with military rites will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012 at St. Matthews Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church in Maxton. Burial will follow at Williams Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in Alma.

The public viewing will be from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at Purcell Funeral Home in Laurinburg.

He is survived by his wife the Rev. Linda I. Smith, six sons: Willie "Doonie" Smith, Yenter "Y.D." Smith, Milton Sabitino Smith, and Devecky "Bone" Smith of Maxton, Simeon McCallum of Lumberton, and Jimmy Sessoms of Laurel Hill, four daughters: Linda B.Smith of Killeen, Texas ,Beverly (Sandy) Williams of Laurinburg, Gervonia (Derwin) Manning of Whispering Pines, and Lynvi "Shada" Smith of Laurinburg, mother-in-law Flora Lee Smith, seven sisters: Mary Wesley, Sarah Anderson, Jacqueline (Jerome) Robinson, Dorothy McDaniel, Mary Bethea, Lonnette (Keithan) Terry, and Carol (Rev Kenneth) Kidd, four brothers: Dr.Milton Smith, Elder Charles Smith, Lonnie McRae, and Pete Wilkerson, 28 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
